Installation views of Drawing III (Selected) at g-module gallery - Paris - May 18 - July 1, 2006

	Drawing III (Selected) is the third exhibition of its kind at g-module including more than forty selected drawings by relevant contemporary American artists grouped together by the medium itself. Mostly small scale works on paper, varying in method, subject and format, the show's focus remains true to art on paper assembled with a collector's "bug". This edition presents: Huma Bhabha's monsters emerging from volatile waters; Michael Bise's pencil renderings of intimate personal battles and dramas; Justin Berry's gouache drawings of how the paradigm of words alters the view of things; Jason Fox's mocking caricatures and portraiture of his satirical self and the American president; Chris Hammerlein's colored pencil drawings of combined religious, sexual and political truths; Laleh Khorramian's monotype infused drawings of mystical visionary settings; David Moreno's grid compositions depicting sound, noise and rhythm through color marker; Michelle Segre's ink 'portraits' of estranged creatures with hairy and bug eyed features; Gordon Terry's visionary and esoteric castle foyer's invaded by elements from the "other side"; Savva Teteriatnikov's impressions in marker of synthetic structures implanted with microorganisms; Scott Teplin's imaginary theatrical rooms of untidy beds and booby trapped passages parodying suburban neighborhoods; and Lane Twitchell's iconographic cutout paper drawings of folk or religious inspired Americana. Since the last edition of Drawing II (Selected) just two years ago at g-module, the obvious drawing frenzy (for all periods) has succumbed to an ever more expanding audience, most notably in America. This new selection of artists, whether from California, Texas or New York, mostly showing for the first time in Paris, reveals the never ceasing act of drawing - a microcosm of the diverse creativity in the United States, unveiled to European circles.
