Hand Colored Litho tests
Color tests before editioning a hand-pulled litho run printed by Prof. Jack Damer at the U of Wisc. - Madison. I'll eventually hand color each 20" x 17" print.
Pre-Review in Art in America
Getting sketchbooks stolen - bummer. Finding out it was a friend to put them in a cool show? Awesome. Here's a pre-review by Brian Boucher from Art in America:
A large group show opening this month poses cheeky questions about theft of ideas and artworks: artist-curator Adam Parker Smith stole all the objects to be included, from paintings to an artist's mouth guard, during studio visits.
"Thanks" will be at New York's Lu Magnus Gallery (Mar. 29-Apr. 26). Among the artists invited to participate (they can still decline) are Scott Teplin, A.i.A. contributor Dennis Kardon, Emily Noelle Lambert and Rico Gatson.
Smith sent e-mails (forwarded to A.i.A.by one of the artists) last night and today to the more than 70 New York "invitees." It reads, in part, "'Thanks' will be a large group show comprised entirely of stolen works of art or objects relating to the artists' practice."

1-Day Open Studios - March 9
I'm participating in a one day open studios at The Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts on 39th Street and 8th Ave tomorrow from 1 to 4. The event includes 60 studios with their doors gaping wide open. It's supposed to be until 6 but I have to bug out at 4-ish.
EFA Studios member artists work in a wide range of media and artistic sensibilities, creating a vibrant and diverse community of peers under one roof. Artists on floors 3-10 will have their studios open to welcome guests to explore, interact, and investigate their art.
Mug Eyeballs
My good buddy Mark Wagner sent me a couple of Starbucks mugs where you can draw on them with an enamel pen, bake it in your oven and your drawing becomes permanent. These are doodles for the drawing I'm doing for him - which explains the shape. It wraps perfectly around the mug.

Truth Brush
My 7 year old drew this during breakfast this week and I found it on the kitchen table after he went to school.
