Orchid

2017. Pen & ink and watercolor on 22" x 24" paper. I wanted to see what would happen if I made the image bleed to the edges (came from this sketchbook drawing). The colors started out pretty tame and got more wild and intense as I progressed. I kept thinking it wasn't working out so I tried pushing up the saturation levels until it suddenly all came together.  More like this...
